Rutland County Museum
Originally set up in 1967, Rutland County Museum now has over 11,000 items that have been found in the local area. Some of the exhibitions include: Early Life, Home & Family Life and Rutland at war. Tours and workshops for school groups can be organised to make learning fun and interactive.
But Rutland County Museum provides more than an insight into the local area’s history. It’s also a venue for workshops during the school holidays, allowing children to explore their creative side.
Furthermore, an initiative run by Arts For Rutland has seen the Museum also become a cinema, showing films that you might have missed at the mainstream complexes. They also show classic and independent films. The museum has also been known to be a venue for local dramatic societies to perform, so keep your eyes peeled!
