Rutland Falconry and Owl Centre
Started in 1999, Rutland Falconry an Owl Centre became the home to an already fairly large bird of prey collection. Since then, the collection has grown, and so has an educational element. Visitors can go on guided walks, handling the birds whilst learning about how they live, fly and hunt.
Not only this, from the floor to the very top of the trees, there is wildlife in the 42 acres of land owned by the centre. Local birds, badgers and even deer sometimes wonder into the woods.
Birds aren’t the only animals visitors can see at this centre; there are two wolves in enclosures just outside. Furthermore, if you call in advance, you may be lucky enough to meet the only big cats in Rutland!
